Alan Rosendale

Stub — Alan Rosendale is a survivor of an anti-gay attack at Moore Park in 1989. He is a named case in ACON’s In Pursuit of Truth & Justice (2018) and in Report 58 (NSW Legislative Council Standing Committee on Social Issues, 2021). His case is documented as case_outcome: assault-survived.

An eyewitness, Paul Simes, recorded the attackers’ vehicle registration at the time of the attack. Simes later established that the plate matched an unmarked police car — an allegation of direct police involvement in an anti-gay attack. Rosendale and Simes met for the first time in 2013 after Simes published his account. This allegation makes the Rosendale case exceptional in the documented history: it moves beyond systemic investigative failure into potential active misconduct.
